Old National School, Pocklington

Project summary

At the time our Client was a relatively ‘new’ developer with this site being their first acquisition.  

The site offered the potential of an interesting historical building of local importance alongside a redundant playground in a town centre location.

We were involved from bid stage for the site and it was our design approach proposing re-use alongside redevelopment which helped our Client successfully secure the site.

Positive engagement with the local planning authority achieved planning permission at committee.

The successful redevelopment of the site secures the future of the former National School whilst placing appropriate new-build development alongside.
