Noah’s Ark,

Project details

Noah’s Ark is situated within the complex of the North Oxfordshire Academy (formerly Drayton School), to the North West of Banbury. The Preschool and Playgroup is a registered charity and teaches children from the age of 2 until Primary school entry. It aims to provide an environment in which children will be encouraged to learn through play, promoting all aspects of their development in their early years.

Walker Graham Architects were tasked with designing an interesting and playful building for it’s users. The building is a relatively simple shape yet the proposed materials intend to give it a fun and modern appearance. The windows are ‘punched’ out from the façade of the elevation – creating emphasis on the coloured metal surrounds

The building is constructed in SIP’s and has an air source heat pump – to reduce heating costs and provide a low maintenance, sustainable building.
